Relive "Nationals Classics": Some baseball to whet your appetite for the regular season

The regular season is so close, you can almost taste the Ben's Chili Bowl half smokes, popcorn and peanuts. It'll be April 3 before you know it.

But before the Nationals host the Marlins on South Capitol Street next Monday, there are still a couple of exhibition games left - MASN broadcasts March 28 versus the Fish, then March 31 and April 1 against the Red Sox - and a smattering of "Nationals Classics" that will air in the week leading up to opening day.

We've got a nice variety for you - everything from some major league history to walk-off wins to a sterling mound effort. Enjoy these "Nationals Classics" - and opening day will be here before you know it!

Tuesday, March 28, 8 a.m. - The Cubs may have won the World Series, snapping a drought dating to 1908, but in this June 15, 2016 game, they lost 5-4 to the Nationals on walk-off RBI single by Jayson Werth in the 12th inning.

Friday, March 31, 12:30 p.m. - Stephen Strasburg left this July 3, 2016 game after 6 2/3 innings without allowing a hit, and the Nationals delivered a12-1 victory over the Reds, with four hurlers combining on a three-hitter as Strasburg improved to 11-0.

Sunday, April 2, 11:30 a.m. - Are you like a little kid on Christmas Eve the night before the Nationals' season opener? If so, you'll enjoy this Sept. 9, 2016 game in which Trea Turner walked off the Phillies with a home run.
