Rendon returns to Nats lineup

SAN FRANCISCO - After missing three straight games with a right hand injury, Anthony Rendon is back in the Nationals lineup today for the second game of this four-game series against the Giants. Rendon injured the hand on a ground ball Friday night in San Diego. He left that game after five innings and sat out each of the last three days, but has progressed enough to be slotted back in the No. 2 spot in the batting order tonight, playing third base. Doug Fister (4-1, 3.19 ERA) gets the ball for the Nats tonight, opposing Giants lefty Madison Bumgarner (9-3, 2.68 ERA). These two faced off in the World Series in 2012, the game where Fister was drilled on the side of the head by a comebacker. He remained in the game. This is Fister's first time taking the mound at AT&T Park since that night.
