Roark tagged for walk-off homer (Nats lose 3-2)

BALTIMORE - Orioles center fielder Adam Jones broke a scoreless tie with a solo homer off Nationals starter Gio Gonzalez to begin the fourth. It was Jones' 12th home run of the season.

Gonzalez has allowed one run on four hits with two walks and four strikeouts.

A leadoff single from Yunel Escobar in the first is the only hit the Nats have managed against Orioles starter Chris Tillman. Tillman has struck out Bryce Harper in both at-bats so far.

Update: Clint Robinson and Ian Desmond connected on back-to-back singles to start the fifth but Jose Lobaton followed with a double play grounder.

Tyler Moore then delivered a clutch two-out RBI double off Tillman into the right field corner to tie the game. Michael A. Taylor gave the Nats the lead moments later with a single to left scoring Moore.

Update II: Gonzalez's evening ended after walking Jimmy Paredes to begin the seventh. Gonzalez allowed one run on six hits with three walks and five strikeouts. He threw 106 pitches.

Nationals manager Matt Williams called on right-hander Aaron Barrett to replace Gonzalez. Barrett, making his first appearance since June 11, fanned J.J. Hardy and Jonathan Schoop on nasty sliders and then got Manny Machado to pop out to Desmond to end the frame.

Update III: Orioles pinch-hitter Chris Parmelee reached on an infield single to start the eighth against right-hander Casey Janssen. Jones then lined out to Escobar, bringing Williams to the mound calling for lefty Matt Thornton to face Matt Wieters.

Wieters drilled Thornton's first pitch into the gap in right-center field, allowing Parmelee to race home and tie the game.

Right-hander Tanner Roark will pitch the ninth for the Nats.

Update IV: After fanning Jimmy Paredes and Hardy to start the ninth, Roark gave up a walk-off homer to Schoop.

The Nationals lose 3-2 to the Orioles.
