Strasburg takes hill against Cardinals (with lineups)

The Nationals are 5-3 on their current road trip, and send right-hander Stephen Strasburg to the mound today in St. Louis to try and snap a two-game losing streak.

Strasburg is 6-4 with a 2.99 ERA, but he has a string of 10 straight starts in which he's worked at least six innings. Six times in that span, he's pitched at least seven innings. His 108 strikeouts are second in the National League behind Reds pitcher Johnny Cueto, who has 109. Strasburg has won his last three starts and the Nationals have given him spectacular run support, scoring 26 runs in those three victories.

In his career against the Cardinals, Strasburg is 0-1 in five starts with a 2.37 ERA. However, this is his first career start at Busch Stadium. He has never allowed a home run to a St. Louis batter.

This programming reminder: Tonight's game will be seen on FOX instead of MASN, as the Nats-Cardinals clash gets a regional audience, mostly in the mid-Atlantic and central portions of the country. The finale of the weekend series with the Cards will be shown tomorrow on MASN2 HD, beginning with "Nats Xtra" at 1:30 p.m.
