#TBT to "Nationals Classics": Some viewing sides for your Turkey Day feast and beyond

By now, the turkey may be in the oven, your kitchen may smell wonderful and you're looking at the timer counting down the hours and minutes before your Thanksgiving feast can commence.

In a few hours, you'll be stuffed, thankful for the expanding or flexible waistband on your pants and settling into your comfiest chair for the rest of the day. Whatever is on your post-Thanksgiving meal menu - pumpkin pie, a turkey sandwich trimmed with dressing and cranberry sauce, a nip of your favorite adult beverage - we can offer you a late-night treat.

For those unfamiliar with how we while away the days until pitchers and catchers report to West Palm Beach, Fla., for spring workouts, it's time to start filling your need for balls and strikes, hits and outs, fair and foul (fowl?) with "Nationals Classics" on MASN.

You know the drill. We give you a rundown of broadcasts of memorable Nationals games - some vintage (well, as vintage as possible for a team that arrived in D.C. in 2005) and some more recent - and you plot out your time in front of the flat screen, tablet or mobile device to relieve them.

Thursday, Nov. 25 - 11:59 p.m. - We'll get this one in just under the wire for your Turkey Day viewing. You've had your tryptophan-induced nap, so you're in good shape to watch this offensive explosion from April 9, 2014. With the Nats trailing the Marlins 7-6 in the eighth, Jayson Werth's grand slam off Carlos Marmól provided a 10-7 victory.

Friday, Nov. 26 - 4:30 p.m. - Take a break from wall-to-wall college football and catch this extra-innings showdown with the Braves from Sept. 11, 2020. Washington squandered an early 5-0 cushion, allowing Atlanta to knot the score with a three-run ninth and force bonus baseball. Luckily, Michael A. Taylor played the hero, walking off the visitors with a 12th-inning RBI single.

Sunday, Nov. 28 - 3 p.m. - What's a "Nationals Classics" recap without a little Max Scherzer magic? On July 6, 2019, Mad Max fanned 11 and allowed just four hits through seven innings as the Nats blanked the Royals 6-0.

Monday, Nov. 29 - 11:59 p.m. - Another late-night highlight, this one from May 4, 2012, when Wilson Ramos starred, ending a war with the Phillies, by forcing a walk-off pinch-hit single to center field to cement a 4-3 win over the Phillies in 11 innings.

Tuesday, Nov. 30 - noon - The 2015 campaign was a season-long Scherzer masterpiece, and on the penultimate day of the season, the ace was at his best. The right-hander no-hit the Mets at Citi Field, striking out 17 - including nine in a row at one juncture - in a 2-0 win for his second no-no of the season.
