The runs, they keep on comin' (Nats win 11-5)

Is it possible for the Nationals to play the rest of their games in Coors Field? Or at the very least, can they work something out with the league office to allow them to face the Rockies every night? Seriously, this is getting ridiculous. The laser show that began last night has continued today. The Nats lead the Rockies 9-1 through four innings. They've hit three home runs, have seven extra-base hits and forced the Rockies to go to their third pitcher of the night beginning the fourth inning. Ryan Zimmerman has three RBIs and he's notched his second home run in as many days. Tyler Moore also has his second homer in as many days and has five RBIs over his last seven at-bats. A solo homer from Ian Desmond gave him four extra-base hits over the last two games. Jhonatan Solano is now batting .412 after a two-RBI double, his fourth extra-base hit in 17 career at-bats. This is a lot more fun than scoring two runs a game and giving your starter a tough-luck loss. Speaking of which, Jordan Zimmermann must not know what to do with himself. He had an eight-run cushion to work with going into the bottom of the third. Those eight runs are more runs than the Nats had scored for him over his last three starts (six runs) combined. Update: Another dominating offensive effort and seven very strong innings from Zimmermann got the Nationals a second straight blowout win. Zimmermann notched just his fourth victory of the season and saw his ERA drop to 2.77. This in a park where, as we've seen, the ball can leave the yard at any moment. The Nats have scored 23 runs and put up 35 hits the last two nights combined. Yeah, that'll do.
