Throwback Thursday: An extra special opener

With the World Series wrapped up, it is officially the offseason for Major League Baseball. That means no more baseball for 158 days - otherwise known as way, way too long.
To help you get your Nationals fix for the next six months, I'll be throwin' it back to a memorable moment from their 2014 season every Thursday.
Hence the "Throwback Thursday" thing.
Let's kick things off by going all the way back to the beginning. The Nats opened their season in enemy territory with a back-and-forth battle against the Mets. Actually, back-and-forth is an understatement. It seemed like each team always had an answer for the other - that is, until the 10th inning.
With two on and two out at Citi Field, Anthony Rendon came to the plate and gave the Nationals a three-run lead with one swing of the bat, leading them to a 9-7 extra-inning win to begin 2014.
