Tonight's Tigers-Nationals game has been postponed due to inclement weather and will be made up Thursday at 4:05 p.m.
It's not currently raining here at Nationals Park, but a strong cell is supposed to come through the D.C. area tonight. Rather than starting tonight's game and having both teams use their starting pitcher only to then go into a delay, the game has been pre-emptively called.
Both the Nationals and Tigers had an off-day scheduled for Thursday, so that day was an easy choice for the game to be rescheduled.
The Nats' scheduled starting pitchers for this series will stay the same. Jordan Zimmermann will go tomorrow night and Dan Haren will go Thursday.
We can expect Anibal Sanchez to start tomorrow for the Tigers and Doug Fister to stay in line for Thursday's game.
On another note, Nationals manager Davey Johnson said that Bryce Harper has not been fined or suspended for his actions in Sunday's game against the Pirates.
Harper was ejected by third base umpire John Hirschbeck after Hirschbeck determined that Harper had slammed his bat and helmet to the ground while arguing a third-strike call.
