Werth a late scratch, Moore to make his major league debut (updated)

It turns out Tyler Moore will start today, after all. The Nationals have made a few late changes to their starting lineup: Jayson Werth has been scratched, and with the right fielder out, manager Davey Johnson has decided to move Xavier Nady from left field over to right and insert Moore into the starting lineup in left. Danny Espinosa, originally scheduled to hit sixth, will now bat third today. Moore will make his major league debut just hours after arriving in Los Angeles. The 25-year-old was told he was getting called up from Triple-A late last night. Werth is batting .273 with two home runs and nine RBIs this season. He has a .378 on-base percentage, second-best on the team. As I mentioned earlier, Moore has played only three career minor league games in left field. But he'll be out there in left at Dodger Stadium today as the Nats look to salvage the series finale against the Dodgers. Here's the new Nats lineup: SS Ian Desmond 3B Steve Lombardozzi 2B Danny Espinosa 1B Adam LaRoche RF Xavier Nady LF Tyler Moore CF Bryce Harper C Jesus Flores P Gio Gonzalez Update: Reports out of Los Angeles say that Werth has been scratched because of a "manager's decision." Interesting.
