Werth in Nats lineup, LaRoche and Span aren't (Rockies lineup)

Jayson Werth is back in the Nationals lineup today after being scratched from yesterday's lineup due to what manager Davey Johnson called flu-like symptoms. Two other Nats regulars will not start today's series finale against the Rockies. Adam LaRoche and Denard Span - two left-handed hitters - are both sitting today against Rockies left-hander Jorge De La Rossa. Johnson also had LaRoche and Span out of the lineup against Phillies left-hander John Lannan earlier this week. Johnson has talked about wanting to get some of his bench players more playing time, and he apparently sees opposing teams' left-handed starters as a chance to cycle in some of his right-handed bench bats. Jeff Kobernus will start in center field and lead off today, while Chris Marrero will play first and hit sixth. For the Nats: CF Jeff Kobernus 2B Anthony Rendon 3B Ryan Zimmerman RF Jayson Werth SS Ian Desmond 1B Chris Marrero C Kurt Suzuki LF Steve Lombardozzi LHP Ross Detwiler For the Rockies CF Dexter Fowler 2B DJ LeMahieu LF Carlos Gonzalez RF Michael Cuddyer C Wilin Rosario 1B Jordan Pacheco 3B Nolan Arenado SS Josh Rutledge LHP Jorge De La Rosa
