36th annual OriolesREACH holiday party for kids to be held next Tuesday, Dec. 16

Current and former Orioles will host 80 kindergarten through fifth grade students from Callaway Elementary School in Baltimore as part of the 36th Annual OriolesREACH Holiday Party for Kids next Tuesday, December 16, from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Dave & Busters in the Arundel Mills Mall. Manager Buck Showalter, along with current Orioles Brad Brach and Steve Pearce, will be joined by former O's Al Bumbry, Dave Johnson, and Scott McGregor for the event. MASN broadcaster Jim Hunter will serve as emcee. Players will serve lunch, play games with, and sign autographs for the students. MASN's Tom Davis will play Santa Claus alongside Santa Bird and deliver gifts donated by the Orioles and OriolesREACH as each child will receive a baseball glove, ball, and board game. Students will play for free in the arcade room courtesy of Dave & Busters. Callaway Elementary School is located at 3701 Fernhill Ave. in Baltimore. Students were selected to attend based on standards set by the school including perfect attendance, Honor Roll students, Principal Honor Roll students, or students in fifth grade who attained the highest achievement in reading as evident in the Interim Assessment 1 in the Network 2. This year's event marks the 36th year the Orioles have held a holiday party for children from economically disadvantaged areas in Baltimore. A different school is selected each year.
