A few pregame notes and Diamondbacks lineup

Orioles right-hander Miguel Gonzalez is facing the Diamondbacks for the first time tonight. In 12 career outings when starting against an opponent for the first time, Gonzalez is 6-4 with a 4.67 ERA and the Orioles are 7-5 in those games. Gonzalez is 11-5 with a 3.18 ERA in 23 career outings against an opponent he's faced in the past, and the Orioles are 16-7 in those 23 games. The Orioles are 5-11 in games when Matt Wieters hits a home run. They're .500 or better when every other player has homered. The Orioles are 7-0 when Nate McLouth goes deep. It's what you know... Wieters hit his 16th home run last night, which ties him with Atlanta's Brian McCann for the most by a catcher since the start of the 2011 season (61). The Orioles are one of five major league teams with four or more players with at least 16 homers, joining the Rockies, Angels, Blue Jays and Nationals. Chris Davis is the 13th different Oriole with 110 RBIs in a season. Eddie Murray holds the record with five years of 109-plus RBIs. Davis' 110 RBIs would have led 45 teams in Orioles history. He's on pace to drive in 151 runs, which would break Miguel Tejada's club record of 150 set in 2004. Davis has more RBIs through 118 games than any other Orioles hitter in franchise history. He's one ahead of Boog Powell's total in 1969. J.J. Hardy, a graduate of Tucson's Sabino High School, has hit safely in nine straight games since Aug. 1, batting .286 (10-for-35) with a double, three homers, six RBIs and six runs scored. The nine-game streak is his second-longest of the season behind a 13-game streak from May 3-18. Down on the farm, Cuban outfielder Dariel Alvarez went 0-for-1 with a walk in his second game with the Gulf Coast League Orioles. We was 2-for-3 with a triple and home run yesterday. Catcher Johan Heim, the Orioles' fourth-round pick in the 2013 First-Year Player Draft out of Amherst (N.Y.) High School, was charged with three passed balls, giving him 10 in 13 games behind the plate. He's also served as the designated hitter in five games and is batting .135. No one said it was going to be easy. For the Diamondbacks A.J.
