A few pregame notes (and Tigers lineup)

The Orioles made their roster move official about an hour ago. Reliever Willie Eyre's contract was purchased from Triple-A Norfolk, and pitcher Jake Arrieta was placed on the 60-day disabled list to create room on the 40-man roster. The club still hasn't received any information on Arrieta's surgery today to remove a bone spur from his elbow. Second baseman Brian Roberts worked out in Sarasota, playing long toss and taking ground balls, among other things. He hasn't experienced any headaches for the last few days, and he's pretty much doing everything baseball-related except playing in games. It's up to concussion-specialist Dr. Michael Collins to clear Roberts to start playing. Manager Buck Showalter left a phone message for Roberts yesterday, and he received the return call during today's Hall of Fame luncheon. Showalter hopes to speak with Roberts later today. "I'm looking forward to him being cleared by the doctor and start playing in games," Showalter said. Nolan Reimold is batting first for only the second time in his career. He's done it in two games, and is 3-for-6 with a double and two runs scored. Showalter indicated that Tuesday's starter will be Brian Matusz or Brad Bergesen, though he said other options have been discussed. My guess is Matusz will be recalled. The Orioles only had to make one roster move for bullpen help because Bergesen gave them 4 1/3 scoreless innings last night. For the Tigers: Jackson CF Dirks LF Ordonez RF Cabrera 1B Martinez DH Peralta SS Guillen 2B Avila C Betemit 3B Penny RHP
