A little housekeeping

President of baseball operations Andy MacPhail indicated yesterday that the Orioles aren't nearing any deals for a corner infielder or starting pitcher. These things can change abruptly, but nothing is expected to happen in the near future - unless they offer Matt Holliday $200 million over 10 years. It appears that first baseman Carlos Delgado could begin playing in Puerto Rico this weekend, which would give the Orioles a chance to scout him. I'll see if his name starts appearing in any boxscores. Outfielder Lou Montanez is batting .324 with 10 doubles, one triple, three homers and 13 RBIs in 28 games with Criollos de Caguas. Outfielder Felix Pie is supposed to begin playing for Tigres del Licey in the Dominican sometime in January. Here are the four finalists for the ESPN Zone's 2010 Ultimate Couch Potato contest, to be held tomorrow beginning at 11 a.m.: Jessica Mosley, 27, Arlington, VA., education coordinator Crowned Baltimore's Ultimate Couch Potato last year after sitting for 70 hours and 45 seconds, she unofficially broke the Guinness Book of World Records mark for most hours of continuous sports watched. A die-hard Ravens fan, Pyzik entered this year's competition for revenge, after his friends mocked him for the past year for falling short of the title. Chad Jones, 35, Fort Meade, communications director As a kid, Jones was called to the principal's office when the school realized that the only two days of school he missed each year were the first two days of March Madness. Instead of detention, he got a handshake. More recently, when his wife was put on bed rest, the doctor referred her to Chad for ways to cope with how to be a couch potato. Chris Dachille, 30, Timoniun, sports producer Dachille is a sports producer for a local broadcast station, so when he's not watching sports for fun he's watching sports for work. This is his second year entering the competition and his first being selected as a contestant.
