Beckham update and Orioles lineup

SARASOTA, Fla. - Orioles third baseman Tim Beckham said he expects to play again in Florida after leaving yesterday's game with tightness in his groin.

Beckham was removed after homering in the bottom of the second inning, but he said it was done as a precaution. He actually tweaked the groin in the morning while stretching and felt it again while fielding a ground ball near the line in the top of the second.

Just want to be safe, you know? Don't want to be a superhero right now and try to do more than what I can.

"I'm a little tight, so yeah, just precautionary reasons. Don't want to do anything stupid right now."

Danny Valencia replaced Beckham yesterday and he's starting at third base for today's game against the Rays at Ed Smith Stadium. Chris Davis is leading off again, Pedro Álvarez is the designated hitter and Caleb Joseph is catching.

The bullpen includes Brad Brach, Darren O'Day, Richard Bleier and Josh Edgin.
