Bergesen's escape route (updated)

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Brad Bergesen has held the Rays scoreless through three innings, though he's allowed four hits and a few loud outs. Ben Zobrist doubled and Johnny Damon singled in the first, but Evan Longoria grounded into a 5-4-3 double play on the next pitch. B.J. Upton doubled with one out in the second, but Casey Kotchman grounded out on a changeup and Reid Brignac flied to the warning track in center on another changeup. Sam Fuld singled and stole second base with one out in the third. He broke for third base on a pitch in the dirt and should have been an easy out, but Mark Reynolds dropped Jake Fox's throw for an error. Not a problem. Zobrist struck out on a changeup and Damon grounded out on another changeup. In case you didn't notice, the changeup has been a big pitch for Bergesen. Also, his fastball has topped out at 93 mph. Bergesen has thrown 36 pitches in three innings, 25 for strikes. The Orioles lead, 1-0, on Vladimir Guerrero's two-out double in the first that scored Derrek Lee, who walked to start the rally. In other news, the postponed game from April 12 at Yankee Stadium has been rescheduled for July 30 at 7:05 p.m. as the nightcap of a doubleheader in the Bronx.
