Bill Hall joining Orioles

It pays to stay up late. Infielder Bill Hall just sent the following tweet: "Got the word a lil while ago. Just got called up to #Orioles. See u guys at #CamdenYards 2morrow night." At this hour, I can't possibly confirm the corresponding roster move, but the Orioles apparently will add a fourth player to their bench. One possibility is the Orioles designate left-hander Dana Eveland for assignment, since he's out of minor league options. They must believe that Jason Hammel will avoid the disabled list and make his next start on Monday or Tuesday. They also must want to keep Tommy Hunter on the major league roster. Hall wasn't in Triple-A Norfolk's lineup last night. He's batting .222/.269/.381 with four doubles, two homers and seven RBIs in 15 games with the Tides. Manager Buck Showalter hinted at another roster move following last night's game when he said, "We've got some other things we've got to decide between now and tomorrow, so stay tuned." More information will become available later today. As Showalter says, sleep fast.
