Blown lead, blown save (good news on Brooks Robinson)

Curtis Granderson followed with a double, but Gregg struck out the next two batters and retired Derek Jeter on a bouncer to short. Free baseball! Both teams have five runs and 10 hits. Only one has momentum. Only one could be staring at a four-game losing streak. On a much happier note, Hall of Fame third baseman Brooks Robinson was discharged today from Greater Baltimore Medical Center, which released the following statement on his behalf: "I wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their prayers and outpouring of compassion and concern during my recent illness. The doctors, nurses and staff at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center did an outstanding job of caring for me and I am well on my way to a full recovery. The staff at GBMC assembled several books of e-mails received from around the world and we have spent countless hours reading your kind words of encouragement. We wish that we could personally respond to everyone with our gratitude."
