Bloxom to Potomac; King to Harrisburg

Single-A Potomac Nationals first baseman Justin Bloxom has been activated today and will start tonight in Woodbridge. Bloxom has been out since the beginning of the season with knee weakness related to a previous surgery. The 6-foot-1, 205 lb. first baseman hit .309 with 11 homers and 70 RBI in 2010 with the Hagerstown Suns. His season was cut short last year due to the knee injury. Meanwhile, the Washington Nationals announced that infielder Stephen King has been promoted from Potomac to the Double-A Harrisburg Senators. King has had nine base hits in his last four games and is batting .289 his past 10 games. He was rated as the No. 42 prospect by Baseball America when he entered the 2006 draft and was ranked as the No. 3 overall defensive high school prospect. King was a third round selection by the Nationals in '06. The organization is very high on both these players and their top-flight potential. Bloxom has received high praise for his day-to-day work ethic and the staff is anxious to finally see him healthy and ready to go. King has been very impressive defensively and recently has been on a tear at the plate, earning his promotion to Double-A.
