Bostick replaces Difo in Arizona Fall League

Double-A Harrisburg Senators second baseman Chris Bostick will replace injured infielder Wilmer Difo in the Arizona Fall League for the Nationals. Difo is out with a fractured left hand sustained against the Mets in the final weekend of the season and is expected to miss six to eight weeks.

The 22-year-old hit a combined .258 in 137 games for two teams, with 22 doubles, eight triples, 31 stolen bases, 12 homers and 58 RBIs. Bostick came over from Texas in the Ross Detwiler trade in December 2014.

Bostick will play alongside several of his teammates from this season while with the Salt River Rafters. His manager will be high Single-A Potomac skipper Tripp Keister. Nationals prospects joining Bostick include pitchers Dakota Bacus, Abel del los Santos, Nick Lee and John Simms. Also on the team are catcher Spencer Kieboom and infielder Drew Ward.

Trea Turner will be the taxi squad participant, allowed to play in two games each week, Wednesday and Saturday.

The Rafters begin AFL play on Oct. 13 at 9:35 p.m. Eastern Time against Scottsdale.
