Can Guthrie provide relief? (Reynolds injured)

Mitch Atkins is done after 1 2/3 innings, which makes him a perfect fit for this Orioles rotation. Atkins gave up three home runs in the second inning, though not in a row. It wasn't that bad. Kevin Youkilis just tied the game, 6-6, with a two-run shot that sent Atkins to the bench. Atkins also surrendered homers to Marco Scutaro and Dustin Pedroia among his seven hits and 64 pitches. Jeremy Guthrie is making his second relief appearance. He's scheduled to start the second-half opener against the Indians on Thursday, so we'll see how many pitches he's allowed to throw today. Jake Arrieta and Alfredo Simon are supposed to start Friday and Saturday, respectively. Atkins was expected to take the mound Sunday, but he shouldn't be too confident about getting that assignment. The rotation has posted a 9.56 ERA in the last 16 games. At Triple-A Norfolk, left-hander Brian Matusz is blanking Durham on five hits over five innings. He's walked two and struck out six. He's thrown 87 pitches, 51 for strikes. Update: Mark Reynolds is heading to the trainers room after being hit on the right hand in the top of the third inning. He made a few throws at third base before the bottom half and left the field. Blake Davis is playing second, and Robert Andino has moved to third.
