Chance Sisco will play in the Futures Game

Orioles catching prospect Chance Sisco has been chosen to participate in the All-Star Futures Game at Petco Park in San Diego on Sunday, July 10 at 7 p.m. Sisco will represent the Orioles as a member of the U.S. roster.

chance-sisco-bats-wide.jpgCurrently rated the No. 3 prospect in the Orioles organization by both Baseball America and MLBPipeline.com, Sisco has played all this year at Double-A Bowie. He currently ranks second in the Eastern League with a .401 on-base percentage and fourth in the league with a .309 batting average through 62 games. Sisco has recorded 16 doubles and 23 RBIs while walking and striking out 33 times each over 217 at-bats. In 50 games behind the plate, Sisco has thrown out nearly 30 percent of attempted base stealers (23-of-77).

The 21-year-old Sisco is a career .323/.401/.425 hitter in 303 minor league games. He made his pro debut hitting .371 in the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League in 2013 and the next year hit .340 for Single-A Delmarva, winning the South Atlantic League batting title.
