Corbin hopes for bounce back from rough patch (Nats win 6-2)

Nationals starter Patrick Corbin has been desperately looking for a solution for a recent rough patch. The left-hander has not won a game since May 25, looking to snap a three-game losing streak.

Corbin was able to get started well, inducing a pair of flyouts to Jean Segura and Bryce Harper. But Scott Kingery got a hold of a 1-2 83 mph Corbin slider over the left field wall for his ninth homer of the season to give the Phillies a 1-0 lead.

The Nats quickly tied the game up at 1-1 in the bottom of the first with a double by Adam Eaton and an RBI single from Juan Soto.

Corbin allowed a pair of walks working against the first six batters, but then took over. The southpaw mixed his slider and curveball to perfection through the fourth inning, recording seven strikeouts. He struck out the side in the fourth.

Mid-fourth, the Nats and the Phillies are tied 1-1.

Update: The Nationals took the lead in the fourth inning. Matt Adams doubled and Gerardo Parra brought him home with an RBI double.

After four innings, the Nats lead the Phillies 2-1.

Update II: The Nats added a run to their lead in the sixth. Soto walked and stole second base. Brian Dozier laced a run-scoring single down the left field line to make it 3-1 Nats.

Corbin has finished seven innings, allowing one run on four hits with three walks and eight strikeouts. It's his most strikeouts since 11 versus the Mets on May 15.

Update III: Dozier blasted a two-run shot and Parra followed with a solo homer as the Nats went after the Phillies bullpen. After eight innings, the Nats lead the Phillies 6-1.

Update IV: Javy Guerra allows an RBI triple in the ninth to Brad Miller.
