Dickerson headed to Boston?

BOSTON - Triple-A Norfolk outfielder Chris Dickerson was removed for a pinch-hitter tonight before batting in the first inning. He was supposed to lead off and play center field against Charlotte. LJ Hoes batted for Dickerson and went to right field, with Jason Pridie moving over to center. Should we read anything into it? Apparently, a roster move is pending that involves Dickerson and he's expected to meet the team in Boston, though I'm hearing that Nolan Reinold's hamstring is fine. Dickerson is 3-for-15 at Norfolk, with a triple, an RBI and three runs scored in five games. He signed a minor league deal with the Orioles on Jan. 29 after going 4-for-14 with two homers and five RBIs in 25 games with the New York Yankees last year. Former Oriole Jason Berken, recently signed to a minor league deal by the Chicago White Sox, shut out the Tides on five hits over five innings. Also, the Orioles have signed minor league infielder Cale Iorg to a minor league deal. Iorg, 27, spent the last six years in the Detroit Tigers' system after they chose him in the sixth round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft out of Alabama. He's the son of former major leaguer Garth Iorg and the nephew of Dane, in case the last name sounds familiar. The Orioles scouted Iorg in the World Baseball Classic. The Toronto native played for Team Canada, and the Tigers recently let him go. Iorg has mostly played shortstop as a professional, appearing in 456 games, but he also has some experience at second base, third and all three outfield positions. The Orioles will assign Iorg to Double-A Bowie, whose position players already had committed 10 errors in the first week of the season. Iorg, a career .217/.269/.338 hitter in the minors, tweeted the news earlier and added that he will be playing shortstop with the Baysox. "Iorg is a veteran we're signing to stabilize the interior defense at Bowie," executive vice president Dan Duquette said in a text message. Chris Cotillo of CLNLRadio.com tweeted the signing earlier this evening.
