Flaherty at third base (with Casilla update)

While the Orioles await the results of the MRI on Manny Machado's left knee, Ryan Flaherty is starting at third base tonight against the Blue Jays at Camden Yards. This is the first lineup without Machado since the Orioles selected his contract on Aug. 9, 2012. Nate McLouth is batting second tonight. Dan Johnson will make his first start for the Orioles as the designated hitter. For the Orioles Brian Roberts 2B Nate McLouth LF Adam Jones CF Chris Davis 1B Matt Wieters C Nick Markakis RF J.J. Hardy SS Dan Johnson DH Ryan Flaherty 3B Chris Tillman RHP Update: Alexi Casilla is in the Orioles clubhouse with his right thumb wrapped. He said it was frightening to watch the replay of his collision with teammate Nick Markakis in yesterday's game, and that he passed a CT scan performed Monday night. Casilla, however, doesn't remember the play or how he got back to the clubhouse. He did fly back to Baltimore with the team. The original plan was that he'd be held overnight in St. Petersburg, Fla., for observation before rejoining the Orioles. Casilla is still trying to clear his head and asked that no TV cameras with lights film him in front of his locker because he's still sensitive to brightness. Because he is experiencing concussion symptoms, he will have to go through Major League Baseball's new guidelines before returning to action.
