DENVER - The Nationals have won nine of their last 12 games following Monday's comeback 5-4 win, continuing to play well recently versus the Rockies. Since the start of the 2013 season, the Nationals have won 13 of their last 20 games against Colorado.
Since 2005, the Nationals are now 18-21 at Coors Field. The Nats are also 18-13 in one-run games and have 29 come-from-behind victories.
The 23 games above .500 are their most games above the even line so far this season. In 2012, they reached 70 wins on August 10 (70-43). In 2014, the Nationals reached this win total on August 18 (70-53).
Left-hander Gio Gonzalez has not faced the Rockies since 2012. He went 2-0 with 3.75 ERA in two starts that season against Colorado, giving up five earned runs in 12 innings.
Bryce Harper went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two walks Monday. He has reached base safely in nine of his last 10 games. It was his fourth three-hit game of the season. Harper is now tied with Joey Votto for the most walks this season with 85. In 11 career games at Coors Field, Harper is batting .350 (14-for-40).
Wilson Ramos continues to rake, now hitting .368 (14-for-38) over his last 10 games. He has hit safely in nine of his last 10 games and 23 of his previous 28.
I will be monitoring today if right-hander Joe Ross will get in a bullpen session. Ross (right shoulder inflammation) continued pregame workouts with the club at Coors Field on Monday.
