Game 119 lineups: Nats at Rockies

DENVER - The Nationals and Rockies wrap up their three-game set on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon in the Mile High City with the Nats seeking their 11th road series victory. The Nationals are 24-13 in series finales.

Right-hander Stephen Strasburg faces right-hander Jon Gray, who were each recipients of the College Baseball Hall of Fame Pitcher of the Year Award. Strasburg with the honor in 2009 and Gray in 2013.

The Nationals will need Strasburg to go long in this game after using eight reliever calls in the first two games of the series.

Manager Dusty Baker said Strasburg is due for a bounce back after a couple of starts where he allowed a combined qo earned runs, especially after starting season 14-1.

"The law of averages were against him to just keep winning the way he's winning," Baker said. So now, boom, back to earth a little bit. Now it's time to go back north again."

Baker said he went with Brian Goodwin in the center field so that Ben Revere can rest after going 0-for-8 in the series.

"No. 1 he's a fresh body," Baker said. "They don't have (Carlos Gonzalez) in the lineup, probably for much of the same reason. You can see Ben wearing down a little bit because he's not hitting the ball with the same authority that he was hitting before. I thought about (Chris) Heisey but Heisey don't have the range quite that Goodwin has and that you need here in center field."
