Game 155 lineups: Nats vs. Mets

With nine days left in the regular season, the Nationals now have a chance to play with lineups and work toward planning for what they need to do to get better in 2019.

The outfield next season will most likely be comprised of young stars Juan Soto and Victor Robles, as well as veteran Adam Eaton. There is also hope that free agent Bryce Harper will re-sign with the Nats on a long-term contract.

Robles is getting more playing time recently because of Eaton's stiff knee. Robles has started four out of his last five appearances and notched at least one hit in each of those games. He would like nothing better than to continue that trend in the season's final nine games.

The Nats will likely look for a starting pitcher, a catcher and a second baseman as they put together their 2019 wish list. Bullpen help, outfield depth and a potent bench bat will also be studied. They also would be wise to build around third baseman Anthony Rendon and get him signed to a long-term contract extension. He has had another solid season at the plate, with a .305 average, 22 homers and 83 RBIs in 499 at-bats.

Right-hander Austin Voth (0-1, 11.81 ERA) gets the start today for the Nats in Tanner Roark's spot. Roark returned to the team after his wife gave birth to their third child earlier this week. Manager Davey Martinez decided to give him some rest and let Voth get a shot. Voth would like nothing better than to erase the July 14 debut loss against the Mets where he allowed seven runs in 4 1/3 innings.

The Mets counter with right-hander Corey Oswalt (3-2, 6.21 ERA).
