Game 156 lineups: Nats at Phillies

PHILADELPHIA - Welcome to Bryce Harper Day! The Nationals are hoping this will be the night they get their star right fielder back into a game after missing close to a month and a half with a hyperextended knee and strained calf.

To date, he hasn't been activated, and he's not in the starting lineup for tonight's game at Citizens Bank Park.

The Nats are in town for their final regular season road series of the year with three against the last-place Phillies, coming off a series victory in New York against the Mets. The Nats then have four games at home beginning Thursday against the Pirates.

The Nationals have sewn up home-field advantage in the National League Division Series. They trail the Dodgers by 4 1/2 games with a week left for the overall No. 1 seed.

AJ-Cole-throwing-gray-sidebar.jpgTonight's pitching matchup features Nats right-hander A.J. Cole (2-5, 4.43 ERA) against right-hander Aaron Nola (12-10, 3.56) of the Phillies.

Cole has a 1.13 ERA in eight innings against the Phillies this season, allowing one earned run in two appearances, one of them a start. This will be his eighth start of the season for the Nats, matching the career-high number of starts he reached in 2016 at the big league level.

With the win Sunday in New York, the Nats are 49-29 (.628) on the road this season. The 49 wins are the most road wins of any team in the National League and the third-best mark in the major leagues. The 49 wins are also a new franchise record for road wins in a single season. The Nats had 48 road wins in 2012.
