Game 161 lineups: Nats vs. Indians

With a win today versus Cleveland, the Nationals will secure home field advantage for Tuesday's National League wild card game. They can also grab home field if the Rockies upend the Brewers again tonight in Denver.

Former Nats left-hander Gio González starts for the Brewers at Colorado with first pitch set for 8:10 p.m. ET. So the Nats will know where they stand prior to that game getting underway.

The Nats are surging again at the right time, winning six in a row and eight of their last nine. The Nats helped to eliminate the Indians from American League playoff contention with last night's 8-2 win. The door was closed completely after the Rays won 6-2 at Toronto.

Left-hander Patrick Corbin (14-7, 3.05 ERA) has won 11 of his last 13 decisions with a 1.97 ERA at Nats Park. Indians send right-hander Adam Plutko (7-4, 4.25) to the hill.

The Nats are 12-6 versus interleague teams and are 15-11 in September. The club is 48-31 at home, so they still have a chance at 50 home wins on the season with a series sweep this weekend. The Nats' team record for wins at home is 51 set in 2014. They also reached 50 wins at home in 2012 and 2016.
