Game 30 lineups: Nats at Red Sox

Right-hander Aníbal Sánchez is seeking his second win in a row and a series victory for the Nationals as they take on the Red Sox tonight at Fenway Park. The Nats have not won two games in a row since Aug 10- 11. Their last series win was Aug. 16 at Baltimore. With the conclusion of tonight's game, the Nats will officially be halfway through this abbreviated 60-game regular season.

The last time the Nats won a series over the Red Sox at Fenway Park was a three-game series sweep from June 8-10, 2012. Despite their struggles to begin the season, the Nats would be only four games out of first place in the National League East with a win tonight and a Braves loss at Philadelphia,.

Sánchez (1-3, 6.48 ERA) opposes Red Sox right-hander Chris Mazza (0-1, 6.35 ERA). This is the Nats' first meeting with Mazza.

Sánchez tossed seven strong innings on Aug. 23 in a 9-3 win over the Marlins, scattering five hits with no walks and five strikeouts, allowing only a Corey Dickerson solo homer. Sanchez is 1-0 with a 5.51 ERA in four games (two starts) versus Red Sox in his career, with 16 strikeouts in 16 1/3 innings and four homers allowed.

Trea Turner is riding a 13-game hitting streak after going 3-for-5 on Friday night. He is hitting .423 (22-for-52) with five doubles, two triples, three homers and 11 RBIs. Turner has also reached base safely in 19 straight games dating to Aug. 8.

Kurt Suzuki has a 10-game hit streak in progress after a single and double last night. He is hitting .314 (11-for-35) with a double, a homer, three walks and six runs scored during this run.

Howie Kendrick now has a seven-game RBI streak dating to Aug. 13 against the Mets. His solo shot in the third last night was part of the five-run outburst that set the tone for the Nats offense.

Juan Soto's nine home runs are tied for fifth in the National League after Friday's two-run shot, despite not playing in the season's first eight games. The Padres' Fernando Tatis Jr. leads the way in the NL with 13 homers.
