Game 4 lineups: Nats at Braves

ATLANTA - Right-hander Tanner Roark did not get a chance to contribute in the 2017 National League Division Series against the Chicago Cubs.

Tonight at SunTrust Park, Roark will make his first appearance in a game that counts since October 1 of last year against the Pirates. This will also be his first start since September 27 at Philadelphia.

Last season started off slowly for Roark, he pitched better as the season progressed and finished 13-11 with a career-high (or low) 4.67 ERA. In 2016, he recorded a career-high 16 wins and posted an impressive 2.83 ERA.

The Nationals will have to contend with their first starting left-hander in Atlanta's Sean Newcomb. The 24-year-old finished 4-9 in 19 starts for the Braves in his first major league season last year, posting a 4.32 ERA.

The Washington Post reported that the club has flown in catcher Pedro Severino because catcher Matt Wieters is suffering from an undisclosed injury. The club has not decided whether or not Wieters needs to go on the disabled list, but if they activate Severino, some move will have to be made.

Update: The Nationals have recalled catcher Pedro Severino from Triple-A Syracuse and placed catcher Matt Wieters on the 10-day disabled list with a mild left oblique strain.
