The Nationals have reinstated right-hander Joe Blanton from the 10-day disabled list and placed right-hander Koda Glover on the 10-day disabled list with lower back stiffness.
Blanton has been on the disabled list since May 17 with right shoulder inflammation. Blanton started for Double-A Harrisburg against Altoona on June 8 and threw one scoreless, hitless inning with no walks and two strikeouts.
Glover allowed two runs on three hits and recorded two outs in the ninth inning Saturday as the Rangers rallied from a 3-1 deficit to eventually down the Nationals 6-3 in 11 innings. It was his second blown save of the season.
In three appearances in June, Glover's ERA was 31.50. He has allowed seven runs and eight hits in just two innings of work.
Glover said after yesterday's game that he had hurt his back during a pregame shower, but neglected to inform the team's training or coaching staffs.
Blanton has gone 0-1 with a 9.49 ERA in 14 games this season.
