Gonzalez goes again, Red Sox take lead (updated)

Michael Gonzalez made his fourth appearance in five games tonight, which means that manager Buck Showalter has gained a lot more confidence in the left-hander, or he's lost confidence in a few other relievers. Gonzalez loaded the bases with one out in the eighth on a single and two walks. Showalter brought in newest Oriole Mark Worrell, who ran the count full before giving up a two-run, tie-breaking double to Dustin Pedroia. Kevin Youkilis drove in two more runs with a single after an intentional walk to Adrian Gonzalez, and Showalter called upon Chris Jakubauskas - the third reliever used in the inning. Gonzalez hadn't been charged with a run in his last five outings, and 10 of 11, but he only had four clean innings in that span. Worrell has one of the funkiest deliveries I've ever seen. It looks like his knuckles are going to scrape the mound before he raises his arm half way and slings the ball toward home plate. Pedroia wasn't distracted by it. Neither was Youkilis. Worrell was making his first major league appearance since 2008. It might be his last for a while. He's gone if Alfredo Simon shows up at Camden Yards tomorrow, as expected. Down on the farm, Luke Scott is 1-for-4 with a single and two strikeouts in his second injury rehab game with Double-A Bowie. He's eligible to come off the disabled list tomorrow. Scott walked twice and homered last night. Instant update: Jakubauskas issued a walk and gave up Carl Crawford's RBI single and Darnell McDonald's three-run double. Red Sox 15, Orioles 7. Gonzalez and Worrell are each charged with three runs, and Jakubauskas is charged with two. Boy, that escalated quickly. I mean, that really got out of hand fast. Single-A Frederick's Bobby Bundy went the distance tonight in a 9-3 victory over Salem, allowing one earned run (two total) and three hits, with one walk and nine strikeouts. He's 9-5 with a 3.11 ERA.
