Guthrie walks Orioles into 3-0 hole (Wieters homers)

Nothing good happens after a walk. Nothing good happens after two walks. Bad, bad stuff can happen. Orioles starter Jeremy Guthrie issued back-to-back walks to Edwin Encarnacion and Kelly Johnson with one out in the second inning, and Brett Lawrie followed with a 385-foot shot to left field to give the Blue Jays a 3-0 lead. In his last start, Guthrie held the Twins to one run over seven innings. He won't be quite that good tonight. Lawrie's blast is the only hit off Guthrie in two innings. Matt Wieters got two runs back in the bottom of the second with a 408-foot shot to center field off Toronto left-hander Brett Cecil - his 15th homer this season. Mark Reynolds followed with a single to extend his hitting streak to 10 games. Wieters was batting .340 against southpaws before tonight. The beatings continue. He's hit four home runs in his last eight games.
