Hagerstown's Anderson earns win as South Atlantic League North All-Stars triumph

In the low Single-A South Atlantic League All-Star Game, several Nationals prospects played a part in the North All-Stars defeating the South All-Stars 2-1. Suns right-fielder Brandon Miller reached second base on a throwing error in his first at-bat and popped up to go 0-for-2. The Suns' Tony Renda contributed a pinch-hit single in the fifth inning. Catcher Pedro Severino went 0-for-1. Suns right-hander Dixon Anderson picked up the win with one inning in the third. He allowed two hits and no runs. Anderson is 4-4 with a 2.70 ERA in 13 starts this season for the Suns. Suns right-hander Pedro Encarnacion struck out one, gave up one hit and no runs. Encarnacion is 5-3 with a 2.68 ERA in 11 games this season for the Suns. At the high Single-A California-Carolina League All-Star Game, the Carolina League All-Stars crushed the California League All-Stars 12-2. Carolina put the game away with five runs in the fourth and five runs in the fifth inning. Potomac outfielder Billy Burns scored a run in the top of the first inning on a sacrifice fly, to give Carolina a 1-0 advantage. He finished 1-for-3 with two runs and a strikeout. Right-hander Blake Schwartz pitched one inning, allowing no runs on one hit and one strikeout. Catcher Adrian Nieto also went 0-for-1 at the plate.
