Hardy in lineup, Wieters not (Socolovich up, Wieters feeling biceps tightness)

J.J. Hardy is starting at shortstop tonight after X-rays taken yesterday on his ribcage came back negative. However, Taylor Teagarden is catching tonight instead of Matt Wieters. Explanation to follow. For the Orioles: Nick Markakis RF J.J. Hardy SS Jim Thome DH Adam Jones CF Chris Davis LF Wilson Betemit 3B Mark Reynolds 1B Omar Quintanilla 2B Taylor Teagarden C Zach Britton LHP For the Athletics: Coco Crisp CF Jonny Gomes DH Josh Reddick RF Yoenis Cespedes LF Chris Carter 1B Brandon Inge 3B Derek Norris C Brandon Hicks SS Jemile Weeks 2B Jarrod Parker RHP Parker has allowed two earned runs or fewer in 12 of his 16 starts, but he's surrendered six runs in three other starts. Left-handers are hitting .215 against Parker in his brief major league career. The Orioles haven't won a season series from the A's since 1998. Update: The Orioles have made yet another roster move to put a fresh arm in their bullpen, calling up Miguel Socolovich from Triple-A Norfolk and designating left-hander Dana Eveland for assignment for the third time this year. The right-handed Socolovich has appeared in two games for the Orioles this season, allowing four runs in four innings. He has a 2.01 ERA in 26 games out of the Tides' bullpen. Eveland has pitched to a 4.73 ERA in 14 appearances (two starts) with the Orioles this year. Update II: Wieters said that he is in fact out of the lineup for health reasons. Wieters felt a little tightness in his right biceps while swinging yesterday and manager Buck Showalter is giving him the day off. Wieters has been struggling of late as well - he's in a 1-for-30 slump.
