Hernandez and O's fall at Chicago

O's starter David Hernandez gave up three runs and three hits over four innings and took the loss as the Chicago White Sox beat the Orioles 4-1 Saturday to even the series. Carlos Quentin's solo homer in the 2nd gave Chicago a 1-0 lead and it grew to 3-0 in the 4th on RBI from Alexei Ramirez and Mark Kotsay. The O's cut a 4-0 lead to 4-1 in the 7th. Luke Scott drew a leadoff walk and later scored on a wild pitch.

Winning pitcher John Danks improved to 11-8, 3.85. He gave up just one run and three hits over 6 1/3 with six walks and three strikeouts. Danks is 6-2, 3.14 over his last ten starts. With the loss, the O's missed a chance to win their first series since the All-Star break, but could still do it with a win Sunday afternoon. Brian Roberts went 0 for 3 with two walks as his 11-game batting streak ended. The O's fall to 4-4 vs. Chicago, 6-15 in August and 10-25 since the All-Star break. Balt.....1-4-0 CWS....4-7-1
