Information on next month's Birdland Caravan

The Orioles are bringing back their Birdland Caravan, a four-day winter tour that runs from Feb. 2-5 at multiple locations throughout the region, with some notable participants including executive vice president/general manager Mike Elias, manager Brandon Hyde, catcher Adley Rutschman and pitcher Grayson Rodriguez.

Included is autograph sessions and happy hours at three locations with current players, top prospects, members of the front office, broadcasters and the Oriole Bird.

The caravan will make stops at Bowlero College Park and Topgolf Baltimore, providing fans with an opportunity to interact with players and staff while they bowl and tee off. There’s also a community service project with the Maryland Food Bank, which is closed to the public, and fan rallies at Bel Air High School, Wilde Lake High School and Winters Mill High School.

The following stops are confirmed: Baltimore City, Bel Air, Bowie, College Park, Columbia, Frederick, Odenton, Salisbury, Towson, Westminster and York, Pa.

Fans in Elkridge and Owings Mills can take photos with the Oriole Bird.

The caravan begins on Feb. 2 with a kickoff fan rally at 5 p.m. featuring a question-and-answer session with Elias and Hyde in Bel Air High School’s auditorium. On Feb. 4, one group will participate in an autograph session at Frederick Community College, followed by a fan rally at The Jim Rouse Theatre for the Performing Arts at Wilde Lake High School. Another group on a second bus will aim for the pins at College Park’s Bowlero and later participate in an autograph session at Bowie State University.

The event wraps up on Feb. 5 with one group visiting Topgolf Baltimore, followed by an autograph session at the Sheraton Baltimore North Hotel in Towson, and a second group participating in an autograph session at the York Expo Center and a fan rally in the auditorium of Winters Mill High School.

Happy Hours will run from 4-6 p.m. on Feb. 3 at Evolution Craft Brewing Company in Salisbury, Feb. 4 at Checkerspot Brewing Company in Baltimore and Feb. 5 at Crooked Crab Brewing Company in Odenton.

The caravan is the first weekend-long event since before the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are excited to reintroduce the Birdland Caravan to our fans throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and engage with them beyond the ballpark,” Jennifer Grondahl, senior vice president of community development and communications, said in a statement. “The weekend’s events will feature unique opportunities to interact with players, prospects, and staff, in a larger geographical circle than ever before. We’re eager to get back out into our communities and celebrate the exciting present and future of Orioles Baseball.”

Tickets are required for the autograph sessions, Bowlero and Topgolf and must be purchased in advance beginning on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Orioles.com/Caravan, which also includes the full schedule of participants.

The Feb. 3 Happy Hour event includes Elias, Hyde, Ryan Mountcastle, Kyle Stowers and Ryan McKenna. The following day’s Happy Hour includes Elias, Rutschman, Heston Kjerstad, Ramón Urías and Terrin Vavra in the first group, and Hyde, Rodriguez, DL Hall and Nick Vespi in the second.

Former Orioles outfielders Al Bumbry and Joe Orsulak will sign autographs in the group with Means and Bautista.
