Jones reaches career high in homers (O's win 6-2)

When Brandon Morrow loses a perfect game, he really loses it. Nolan Reimold singled to lead off the bottom of the sixth, Blake Davis singled with one out and Reimold scored on shortstop Yunel Escobar's error. Nick Markakis popped up for the second out, but Adam Jones followed with a three-run homer on the flagcourt in right field. Orioles 4, Blue Jays 2. Jones has a career-high 20 homers to go with 68 RBIs. He began the night batting .293. Is there any doubt that he's the Most Valuable Oriole in 2011? Chris Tillman will try to get through the seventh. He had thrown 86 pitches heading into the inning. Jim Johnson is warming in the bullpen. The sixth inning might have taken a lot out of Tillman. Instant update: Mark Reynolds is playing a great first base tonight. He just made a nice stop of Colby Rasmus' sharp grounder near the line and started a 3-6-3 double play. Reynolds probably should have stepped on the bag first, but he still got two outs. And Tillman got out of the inning by inducing a grounder from Aaron Hill. Johnson replaced Tillman in the eighth. Tillman allowed two runs and four hits in seven innings, with one walk, five strikeouts, one home run and one hit batter. He threw 93 pitches, 59 for strikes. Outstanding effort.
