Leftovers for dinner (updated twice)

Orioles pitcher Chris Jakubauskas has a little discoloration near his left foot today after being hit by Cliff Pennington's sharp grounder up the middle last night, but he said there's no pain and he's fine. Jakubauskas faced one more batter to complete the fifth inning and pass along the shutout to Clay Rapada. The Orioles will need a fifth starter again on June 18 in Washington, and Jakubauskas figures to get the assignment. With five scoreless innings, he did nothing to cause manager Buck Showalter any hesitation. Double-A Bowie pitcher Steve Johnson also is fine today after being hit on the right forearm by a line drive in the third inning of last night's game against New Hampshire. Johnson struck out five batters in 2 1/3 innings before Adeiny Hechavarria's liner caught him on the fleshy part of the arm below the elbow. He expects to make his next scheduled start, though the Orioles will have the last word. The Orioles selected 28 pitchers and 22 position players in the First-Year Player Draft, with 32 of their picks being college products. They selected 19 right-handers, nine left-handers, four catchers, one first baseman, one second baseman, four third basemen, four shortstops and eight outfielders. Zach Britton has struck out three Oakland batters in the first two innings. He's thrown 23 pitches, 16 for strikes. Update: Britton tied his career high with six strikeouts in only four innings. Oakland left-hander Josh Outman has faced the minimum number of batters through the fourth. Derrek Lee singled with one out in the second, but Matt Wieters grounded into a double play. Update II: Brad Bergesen has allowed two hits in four scoreless innings tonight against Pawtucket. Here's the really good part: He hasn't walked a batter, and 31 of his 42 pitches are strikes. In his last start for Norfolk, Bergesen only allowed one run and three hits in six innings, but he walked six batters.
