After a career performance Sunday in Potomac's win over Frederick, left-hander Danny Rosenbaum is headed to Double-A Harrisburg.
Rosenbaum was electric Sunday, going eight innings and striking out a career-high 11 hitters, and has been the most consistent hitter at Potomac all season, going 6-5 with a 2.59 ERA in 20 games (19 starts). He has 108 strikeouts and has gone 4-2 with a 2.23 ERA in his last 10 starts.
The P-Nats will activate left fielder J.P Ramirez and catcher Brian Peacock off the disabled list. As I reported earlier, pending a passed physical, shortstop Zach Walters, acquired in the Jason Marquis trade, is expected to join the P-Nats in Salem.
Catcher Adrian Nieto and third baseman Sean Nicol are headed to Single-A Hagerstown. Nieto played two games with Potomac and hit .302 in 30 games at short-season Single-A Auburn. Nicol went 0-for-11 in his short stay in Woodbridge. And has already hit .300 in 51 games this season with the Suns.
Also, Evan Bronson is in Triple-A Syracuse to help out the Chiefs bullpen for one night.
The move of Rosenbaum to Harrisburg will be official once a couple of other moves are made on Tuesday.
