Liddi outrighted to Norfolk

The Orioles announced today that infielder Alex Liddi cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk. Liddi was designated for assignment on Friday to make room for outfielder Chris Dickerson on the 40-man roster. The Orioles acquired Liddi and International Signing Bonus Slot No. 3 from the Mariners for International Signing Bonus Slot No. 2 on July 6. He went 1-for-17 in eight games with Seattle this year. He batted .222/.269/.378 with 11 doubles, three triples, four homers and 22 RBIs in 49 games with Norfolk. Liddi played first base, third base and shortstop with the Tides. Liddi hit 30 homers and drove in 104 runs with Triple-A Tacoma in 2011. He's a career .208/.266/.370 hitter with six homers and 16 RBIs in 61 major league games over parts of three seasons with the Mariners.
