Nothing beats a memory, and Orioles FanFest is all about creating memories. The photographic kind - the variety that give you the opportunity to prove you've pressed the flesh with one of your favorite Orioles players or MASN personalities, maybe exchanged a quick question or prediction about the 2013 Birds.
Come Saturday at the Convention Center, you'll get that chance - over and over again. Check in our at MASN booth - more like a small city deserving of its own ZIP code, actually - in the middle of the FanFest madness in the main exhibit hall for the opportunity for a grin-and-grab photo with everyone from an Orioles All-Star to favorite announcers to a Cooperstown Hall of Famer.
Who's going to be there and when? Well, here's the lineup:
* 11-11:30 a.m. - Ryan Flaherty
* 11:30 a.m.-noon - Jim Hunter
* 1:25-1:55 p.m. - Adam Jones
* 2-2:30 p.m. - Rick Dempsey
* 3:15-3:45 p.m. - Mike Bordick
* 4:30-5 p.m. - Jim Palmer
You'll want to make sure you're in line early for these sessions. Bring your smile, wear your favorite O's gear - but there won't be any autographs allowed, so please don't ask. We want to make sure the line moves quickly, affording the maximum number of fans the opportunity to pose with their favorite player or broadcaster.
Once taken, the photos will be loaded onto our MASN Orioles Facebook page. You'll find them there - you can tag yourself, share the photo with friends and family or print out a copy at home.
As for FanFest, expect the usual array of interactive Oriole-centric discussions on the main stage, including the media panel and sessions with executive vice president Dan Duquette and manager Buck Showalter, O's coaches, All-Stars, top prospects, newcomers and pitchers.
I'll be stationed at the MASN booth all day long, along with deputy managing editor Josh Land, editing the stories being cranked out by MASNsports.com's Roch Kubatko and Steve Melewski. Stop by and say hello.
