McLouth hits first career grand slam (O's win 11-8)

Chris Davis isn't the only Oriole who can hit milestone home runs. Nate McLouth belted his first career grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning tonight after the Orioles strung together three straight singles off Mariners reliever Brandon Maurer. J.J. Hardy, Henry Urrutia and Ryan Flaherty singled, and McLouth cleared the fence in center field to give the Orioles an 11-6 lead. At that point, Maurer had faced four batters after replacing starter Aaron Harang. It was all downhill from there. McLouth has seven homers and 23 RBIs this season. He has consecutive multi-RBI games after not producing one since May 2. The Orioles have hit three grand slams this season. Brian Roberts goes on paternity leave for the birth of his first child, and Flaherty is a triple short of the cycle. Make your own joke. Flaherty has his first career three-hit game. That's no joke. Kyle Seager singled with two outs in the seventh, but Nick Markakis threw him out at second base. Markakis has six outfield assists this season, the Orioles 17. Down on the farm, Kevin Gausman allowed two hits in five scoreless innings for Triple-A Norfolk, walking two and striking out four. He threw 68 pitches, 42 for strikes. Tonight's attendance: 25,947 Update: Francisco Rodriguez entered the game in the eighth and gave up two more home runs, running his total to four over four appearances with the Orioles. On three occasions, the leadoff hitter has taken him deep. Orioles 11, Mariners 8 This is only the second time in Rodriguez's 711th career appearances that he's allowed two home runs in the same game. It also happened June 4, 2006 in Cleveland. Jim Johnson is warming in the bullpen. Update II: Game over. Johnson records his 38th save in the Orioles' 11-8 victory over the Mariners. Former Oriole Endy Chavez led off the ninth with an infield hit, but Brad Miller bounced into a double play. It wasn't easy, but Chris Tillman improved to 14-3. The Orioles are 61-49.
