Minor league updates on Giolito, Robles, Marmolejos and others (updated)

Right-hander Lucas Giolito has now won three decisions in a row following Monday afternoon's 3-2 victory at Akron.

Giolito (3-2) pitched six innings, allowing one run on three hits, with four walks and six strikeouts. His ERA is now 3.17. Opponents are batting .238.

In his last four starts, he has surrendered only four earned runs. He also has allowed only seven hits in his last 13 innings. 21-year-old Giolito has walked 12 batters in those last four games.

Left-handed hitting high Single-A Potomac first baseman Jose Marmolejos is hitting .257 through 48 games, with 17 doubles, two triples, seven homers, 30 walks at 23 RBIs. He hit a solo shot Monday in the first inning against Winston-Salem.

Drew Ward is batting .313 with eight homers in 41 games. He missed time due to injury but is back with the club. Andrew Stevenson is hitting .309 and Khayyan Norfork is batting .303. Erick Fedde has 46 strikeouts and is 3-3. Phillips Valdez is 5-2 and has 44 strikeouts.

Low Single-A Hagerstown Suns outfielder Victor Robles is slashing .325/.418/.490 in 44 games. He has 51 hits already this season, with five doubles, three triples, five homers, 14 stolen bases and 23 RBIs. Robles is fourth in the South Atlantic League in hitting.

Former Vanderbilt outfielder Rhett Wiseman has 12 doubles and is batting .314 in the last 10 games for the Suns. Shortstop Max Schrock is hitting .311, with a .342 clip the last 10 contests.

Update: Right-hander Matt Belisle has joined the Harrisburg Senators on a rehab assignment. He is on the disabled list with a right calf strain.
