More roster moves include Accardo, Bell and Florimon

I told you earlier that left-hander Clay Rapada would join the Orioles in New York. He won't be alone. A team official confirmed that the Orioles also will purchase reliever Jeremy Accardo's contract from Triple-A Norfolk, meaning they will have to clear two spots on the 40-man roster. Third baseman Josh Bell and Double-A Bowie infielder Pedro Florimon, both on the 40-man, will be recalled. As expected, first baseman Chris Davis will come off the disabled list after going 3-for-6 in two injury-rehab games at Bowie, which was eliminated from playoff contention this afternoon. I was told today that the club wasn't prepared to transfer infielder Cesar Izturis (groin) to the 60-day disabled list, which would open one spot on the 40-man, but it would make sense if he's not close to returning. Accardo was 3-3 with a 5.29 ERA in 25 games with the Orioles this season before being designated for assignment and outrighted. He allowed 37 hits, walked 17, struck out 20 and hit a batter in 32 1/3 innings. In his last appearance with the Orioles, Accardo allowed three runs in one-third of an inning, with one hit and two walks, in an 8-4 loss in Washington. He surrendered runs in five of his last six outings. Bell was 8-for-46 (.174) with six RBIs in 17 games with the Orioles. He also committed three errors at third base. Florimon will become the latest Oriole to make his major league debut.
