O'Day headed to DL with hamstring strain (plus Orioles lineup)

Reliever Darren O'Day has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain. The injury occurred in the eighth inning of Wednesday night's game when O'Day was covering first base on Ryan Hanigan's infielder grounder.

To replace O'Day on the 25-man roster, the Orioles recalled right-hander Mike Wright from Triple-A Norfolk. Wright was optioned to Norfolk yesterday, but can come back earlier than the usual 10 days because he's replacing an injured player.

Adam Jones remains in the leadoff spot for tonight's series opener against the Yankees. He's hitting .345/.364/.621 in seven games since being moved to the top of the lineup.

Hyun Soo Kim is playing left field and batting second, with Pedro Alvarez serving as the designated hitter against Yankees right-hander Nathan Eovaldi.
