O's continued presence in Sarasota obvious at All-American Family Day

Orioles Concert at Ed Smith StadiumThe Orioles may have returned north to start their season, but the team's presence is still strong at the team's spring training home in Sarasota, Fla.

This past Sunday, teams donning black and orange took the field at the Orioles' Ed Smith Stadium for the All-American Family Day & Concert softball game, hosted by the Baltimore Orioles.

The Sarasota All Stars, made up of local celebrities including media members and politicians, squared off against the Manasota Military All Stars, and found themselves to be no match for the military members and veterans.

Margaret Valentine - Singer/Songwriter In addition to the game, attendees were treated to free postgame concerts, with performances from New York-based singer-songwriter Margaret Valentine and Grammy Award-winning artists America.

The event, which was part of the Orioles' "Arts in the Ballpark" series and the Legacy of Valor campaign, was free of charge to all attendees.

The All-American Family Day & Concert proved to be a fun-filled day for the entire family, and included many hands-on activities such as baseball trivia hosted by the South Florida Museum, a puppy booth hosted by the Humane Society, an exhibit from Mote Marine Laboratory and much more.

"Arts in the Ballpark" continues May 10, when the Sarasota Orchestra and five-time Grammy nominated violinist, vocalist and songwriter Molly Cherryholes perform "Spirit of America." For details and for a complete event schedule, visit orioles.com/sarasota.
