O's game blog: Bud Norris on the mound for Game 3 against Toronto

Four of the last five Orioles games have ended with the losing team being shut out. The Orioles are 2-2 in those games. The Birds pitching staff is on a five-game roll: * The team ERA is 1.20 with 26 hits allowed over 45 innings. * The starters' ERA is 1.09 with five consecutive quality starts, a season-high. * The bullpen ERA is 1.50 with four hits allowed in 12 innings. Today, Bud Norris (5-5, 3.94 ERA) faces R.A. Dickey (6-4, 4.20 ERA) as we enjoy day baseball on a beautiful afternoon at Camden Yards. The Orioles are 9-13 in day games in 2014. In winning 4-0 last night, Toronto snapped a streak where its opponents had scored first in eight straight games. The Blue Jays shut out the Orioles for the second time this season (also 2-0 on April 11), for the 34th time in franchise history and 22nd time at Camden Yards. The Orioles turned two more double plays last night and lead the majors with 81 on the year. They have at least one double play in 10 of the last 11 games. J.J. Hardy is still looking for his first home run of the season. His last came Sept. 5, 2013 against the Chicago White Sox. He has now gone 81 games and 313 at-bats without a longball.
